Environment and marine life awareness

Divers are guests in an extraordinary place. Looking after it, and respecting what lives there, is part of being a good diver. It also keeps you safe: the sea has moods, and good divers read them.

Objectives

  • Describe how to protect the marine environment when diving
  • Recognise that most marine life is not dangerous if left alone
  • Explain why weather, currents and visibility are part of dive planning
